Testimonial story

MMotivationMotivation: builds desire, proof, identificationFFrictionFriction: removes doubt, risk, ambiguity

Let a customer the reader identifies with tell the before/after in their own words.

It’s working when

  • +Full name, face, role, company; anonymity halves the value
  • +The quote contains a specific moment or number, not adjectives
  • +The customer resembles the target reader (role, company size, stack)

How this usually goes wrong

'Great product, amazing team!' is the enthusiastic quote that proves nothing. A testimonial without a concrete before/after is decoration, and readers have learned to scroll past decoration.
